Paganini Congressi
Why Parma?
Why Parma? For history, for its cultural and food and wine fame, the evocative force of the most famous people, internationally known products. A privileged venue for work meetings, presentations and conferences.
Parma, a cradle of art
A city with aristocratic cultural traditions, rich in monuments and valuable works of art: “The Athens of Italy”, this is how it was called in the 18th century for the richness of its cultural institutions, the refinement of the social life and the care for beauty. Benedetto Antelami, Correggio, Parmigianino, Giambattista Bodoni, Giovanni Bottesini, Giuseppe Verdi and Arturo Toscanini are just some of the most illustrious offspring of this charming city that was elegantly described by Stendhal in his “Chartreuse”.
Parma, capital of music
The theatrical and musical vocation of the city of Parma is unique even in the rich Italian tradition. Since 1628 – the year when the “Gran Teatro” was inaugurated – to the seasons of Teatro Farnese, the genius of Verdi, the mastery of Paganini and Toscanini, down to the extraordinary history of Teatro Regio and its feared audience, the city has never stopped being a true capital of music and stage. Today, this heritage is enhanced by the activity of the Toscanini Orchestra, one of the most prestigious in Italy and worldwide.
Food creativity
Parma and the typical products of the Food Valley, sought after all over the world, have obtained Unesco’s recognition as “Creative City of Gastronomy”, the first in Italy in the food sector with its flagships: Parmigiano Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma. It is also present on the list of Unesco’s Creative Cities, which are 60 worldwide.
