Consorzio Paganini and the Paganini Congressi brand: a factory of events within the Renzo Piano complex, in the heart of Parma.
Consorzio Paganini
Consorzio Paganini was founded in January 2015 by the two main musical institutions of Parma: Teatro Regio Foundation and Arturo Toscanini Foundation.
The Consorzio has the purpose of promoting and coordinating, also through its Paganini Congressi brand, the operational management of the real estate complex that includes the Auditorium Paganini, Underground Spaces, the Music Production Centre and the Music Park.
The spaces, designed by Architect Renzo Piano, can host conferences, music events, concerts, company conventions and meetings of varying sizes and characteristics with a team of professionals who can support the client in organising any type of event.
From Sugar to Music
Paganini Congressi is the result of redesigning one of the main industrial areas in the city from the early twentieth century. Dedicated to Niccolò Paganini, the musician Maria Luigia wanted to lead her Ducal Orchestra in 1836, the complex is located in the urban park that hosted the historic Eridania sugar factory from 1899 to 1968.
Discontinued and left unused for a long time, it was included in the requalification programme of the area that was commissioned to Architect Renzo Piano. His project enhanced the spaces developing the metaphor of the sugar factory transformed into a sound factory.
The structure has been completely reinvented, eliminating the borders between artificial and natural space, a suggestion that enlivens the entire project with an extraordinary effect. In a complex that is an ideal framework and space for combining culture and technology, and that will enable the audience to discover the history, potential and magic of this music and conference venue that is absolutely unique.
