Nature and architecture by Renzo Piano

Designed by this great architect, the Auditorium Paganini was the central body of the Eridania sugar factory and features the most relevant recovery project of the old industrial area.

Turned into a large music box, a marvellous transparent carillon overlooking the surrounding urban park where planes, cedars of Lebanon and oak trees can be seen from every point in the room, has been designed as a long “telescope” of about eighty metres where indoor and outdoor spaces blend without barriers.

The identification of innovative solutions employed to deal with the structural and acoustic aspects in the best way are the result of a great engineer and artist.

Bringing structures back to the essential means working by subtracting: removing is a challenge. When you seek lightness, you automatically find another precious thing, that is fundamental in the field of poetic language: transparency.
